For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. - 1 Timothy 6:10
When we read this, we see, "Money is evil". Money leads to all the bad things in this world. However, if we look a little deeper, we discover that is not what it's saying at all!
Money is a necessary part of life. We need this green paper to buy food, clothes, pay bills, etc. But we should not be IN LOVE with money.
We should be in love with Christ. He comes first, as the core of our lives. We have to choose one thing to worship, and it better not be money!“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money. - Matthew 6:24
By your wisdom and your understanding you have made wealth for yourself, and have gathered gold and silver into your treasuries; -Ezekiel 28:4
The point I'm trying to make here is, don't let money get to your head. Know that the true riches and gifts in life are not material. They are spiritual riches, that we will receive when we are totally engrossed in Him and not letting ourselves be lead of track by worldly forces.
And he said to them, “Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.” - Luke 12:15
This was the message I chose to share for Monday Message at Serve One Another In Love! If you have a message from church or just something in general that you would like to share, we would love to hear from you!
Blessings!
