Serve One Another In Love!!!

Hi Ladies!

Anyone remember back in March, when I met Mrs. Heather and we teamed up to start a ministry blog, Serve One Another In Love, together?

It was awesome!

But then.... life got in the way.Things happened, and we "closed down" the blog for about 3 months.

This week? A miracle happened!

Heather and I finally got back together and started working on bringing back the site! I set up all the technical stuff, and worked really hard on the design (I think it's really pretty, if I do say so myself!) and Heather got busy writing content (I wrote content too)!

Serve One Another In Love

Today, Serve One Another In Love officially re-launches!!! I just cannot tell you how excited I am for this! I've been waiting ever since we "shut-down" the blog to start it back up again, and the day is finally here!

Please stop by!!! Today we have our Family In Faith blog hop, where we would love to have you come link-up so we can interact with you, and starting Monday, we are kicking off a 40 Days of Prayer series to challenge everyone's prayer lives!

I seriously just want to scream and jump for joy over this!  I didn't know if we would ever revive our ministry blog again, but Heather and I both missed it so much!

Blogging rocks, girls, it really does!

I'm so thankful to have my friend Heather back and our fun blog back! In case you needed a reminder, our blog title comes from the verse Galatians 5:13:

"You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love."
GOD IS SO GOOD!

Blessings!

For the Love of Money

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. - 1 Timothy 6:10

When we read this, we see, "Money is evil". Money leads to all the bad things in this world. However, if we look a little deeper, we discover that is not what it's saying at all!

Money is a necessary part of life. We need this green paper to buy food, clothes, pay bills, etc. But we should not be IN LOVE with money.

“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money. - Matthew 6:24
We should be in love with Christ. He comes first, as the core of our lives. We have to choose one thing to worship, and it better not be money!

By your wisdom and your understanding you have made wealth for yourself, and have gathered gold and silver into your treasuries; -Ezekiel 28:4

The point I'm trying to make here is, don't let money get to your head. Know that the true riches and gifts in life are not material. They are spiritual riches, that we will receive when we are totally engrossed in Him and not letting ourselves be lead of track by worldly forces.
And he said to them, “Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.” - Luke 12:15

This was the message I chose to share for Monday Message at Serve One Another In Love! If you have a message from church or just something in general that you would like to share, we would love to hear from you!

Blessings!

Message Monday: Jesus Calms the Storm

Today kicks of the new Serve One Another In Love site! A new feature is going to be Message Monday, where people can write about the message they heard in church yesterday, or just a message they want others to hear, and link it up!

I'm sharing a message that I've actually been thinking about for a while before yesterdays service. We read the passage in Mark 4:35-41 where  Jesus and his disciples are traveling from one side to another in a boat. A huge windstorm arises, and Jesus is asleep, so the disciples frantically wake him.

After Jesus calms the storm, he says to his disciples, "Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?"
The message we get from this is that we have no reason to doubt Him. It reminds me of something else I wrote about today, which is giving up on being a control freak. Some things are better left "uncontrolled", but it is just so hard to give up on our desire to handle it everything ourselves. We have to have faith that He will get us through all situations, good or bad. There is no situation too big for God to handle. If we will just trust him and let him guide us, He can control all of our inner storms.

Godly Character Quality #24: Obedience!

Obedience vs. Willfulness: Freedom to be creative under the protection of divinely appointed authority- 2 Corinthians 10:5

This weekend has been an extremely busy, exciting, and creative time. And it's only half over!

Of course, I'm really excited about the new ministry! I can't wait! I'm so glad to be a part of such a fun, encouraging adventure with Heather. Like she said, "Serve In Love.net is going to be a lot more than just a blog!"

Sweet people interested in helping out with the newsletter were emailing me all day. I'm betting half my day was spent in my yahoo inbox composing emails. Easily.

I am getting the chance to be creative with all the newsletter details. Still working on it, but it's going great!

In addition to the ministry project, I am redesigning this blog over the weekend! This weekend was already packed, but I've had my design for too long (Over a month!). It's time for some changes. As Thomas Jefferson said, "Why put off until tomorrow what you can do today?" I haven't gotten too far yet, so it does not look to great right now. Don't worry, it's only temporary. I'm planning to really "makeover" this place, so stay tuned!

I think that's it. So... what does this all have to do with obedience? Well, don't think I didn't go into this adventure very prayerfully!

I've been contemplating growing this blog for a while, and praying about it. I have been patient in waiting until the right time, and finally that time is here!

I didn't do this on my own accord. As Psalms 37:7 says,  "Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes." I've done just that.

Now, I'm excited to have this God given, God "approved" authority to branch out and be a blessing to others in one more way (my ultimate goal)!

I hope you will drop by the new, Serve In Love Ministry site on Monday, when we go live. Share in His grace! There is a giveaway basket involved!
Bless you, as we head into a new week, and I hope that the time comes soon for you to take your big leap and accomplish your dreams!

A New Ministry!

Today, I'm excited to announce that some big, exciting changes are coming!

Only a few short weeks ago, I became friends with Heather. Heather writes a beautiful blog, with so many great features. We quickly became good friends, emailing everyday, and then I started helping out with her Day's of Prayer posts on her blog.

I've been wanting to start a newsletter for a while. I wanted it to be something that all of us women could contribute to. I was hoping I could start out with that and eventually grow into something bigger.

Finally, I stopped doubting myself and posted it in the {In}Courage Community on BlogFrog. Sweet Heather was the first person to respond, telling me she has had the same goals for a while!

Heather and I are starting a new ministry together. I'm heading the newsletter aspect and Heather is getting the new website worked out. We will let you all know when we are ready to go live with this ministry!

We want you ladies to be a part of this too! We will have regular guests to post about different topics for both the newsletter and the blog. If you would like to be a part of this ministry with Heather and I, shoot me an email at faithfulalwaysblog@yahoo.com.

More details to come soon, and thanks so much for your support!

Blessings!
